2018 Winter X Games

After making its X Games debut in 2017, Snow BikeCross returns to Buttermilk Mountain for Winter X Games on January 27. 20 total riders will compete in the BikeCross event and 8 more will compete for Snow Bike Best Trick, a new snow bike discipline added this year.

Snow BikeCross

Like SnoCross, racers battle on a closed-course track lined with rollers, jumps and bermed corners. 20 riders will lineup for ten laps in Round One of the competition where the top six will advance to the final. In the Final, riders complete approximately 20 laps with final finish order determining their ranking.

Track Preview

The course will partially overlap with a section of the Snowmobile SnoCross course at the base of Buttermilk Mountain and has been designed to allow for big jumps over the motocross-inspired features.

Snow Bike Best Trick

Growing from the popularity of Snow BikeCross at X Games, Snow Bike Best Trick adds the freestyle element to the sport, combining the thrill of freestyle motocross with Snow Bikes. Much like Moto X Best Trick, eight riders will have two runs to land their most unique and progressive trick in order to win X Games gold. Snow Bike Best Trick is judged on overall difficulty and execution of their trick.
